Through music, storytelling, performance, and community, each installment honors the environments where Black creativity, joy, and connection have long thrived, from juke joints and salons to dance floors and neighborhood stages. Rooted in remembrance while remaining vibrant and alive, the series transforms cultural history into shared experience.

YAYA’S CONCERT SERIES AT THE CAMEO

Yaya’s Concert Series at The Cameo is a live music experience blending the intimacy of a listening room with the atmosphere of a late-night concert film. Curated by Yaya’s Luxe Productions in partnership with The Cameo Arthouse Theatre, the series spotlights dynamic artists across genres in a cinematic setting designed for connection, nostalgia, and unforgettable performances. Each installment transforms The Cameo into an immersive music experience where live sound, storytelling, and atmosphere take center stage.

400 YEARS: the evolution of Black America

400 Years: The Evolution of Black America is an annual multidisciplinary arts program using theatre, music, poetry, dance, and storytelling to explore the evolution of Black America across generations. Created by Ayana Washington and Cerina Johnson, the program highlights local and regional talent while blending historical storytelling with powerful live performance experiences.

Since its debut, 400 Years has been presented at Cape Fear Regional Theatre, Fayetteville State University’s Seabrook Auditorium, and Fayetteville Technical Community College’s Cumberland Hall, with upcoming presentations at The Clayton Center and Cameo Art House Theatre.

REEL SIPS

Reel Sips is a monthly cinema social experience blending Black film, themed cocktails, curated menus, music, and community into one unforgettable night at The Cameo.

Happening every first Saturday, each installment features a different iconic film paired with specialty drinks, snack offerings, interactive moments, photo opportunities, and nostalgic vibes inspired by the movie of the night.

From cult classics to feel-good favorites, Reel Sips transforms movie night into an immersive social experience designed for film lovers, date nights, friend groups, and anyone looking for a different kind of night out in Fayetteville.

The Blueprint Awards is an annual celebration that honors women whose leadership, service, creativity, and commitment strengthen community and inspire others. What began as a performance series celebrating artistic expression has grown into a signature experience that pairs curated artistic moments with meaningful recognition, creating space to uplift women making lasting impact. Each year, a panel of past honorees selects a new class based on demonstrated community impact, consistency of service, and leadership rooted in service and accountability. The event brings together live performances across artistic modes, formal recognition of honorees, and opportunities for connection and celebration.


FAYETTEVILLE’S 40/40

Fayetteville’s 40 Under 40 is a regional recognition initiative honoring young professionals under the age of 40 who are making a meaningful impact through leadership, service, and innovation. The program highlights individuals whose work strengthens communities, advances industries, and contributes to the long-term growth of southeastern North Carolina. Each year, a diverse class of honorees is selected from across the region, representing a wide range of fields including business, education, nonprofit leadership, healthcare, public service, and the arts. Honorees are recognized not only for professional achievement, but for their commitment to community, collaboration, and positive change. More than a list, Fayetteville’s 40 Under 40 serves as a platform to elevate emerging leaders, foster regional connection, and celebrate the people shaping the future of our communities.
